Disabled Access

Parking

Disabled (Blue Badge) parking is located close to the Entrance and Box Office. You do not need to prearrange this, just park in the nearest available space, as directed.

Travel assistance

Thanks to the people who've contributed generously to a crowdfunding appeal, we are able assist some severely disabled festivalgoers to travel from Papworth Hospital to CRF22.  There is some scope to assist other disabled travellers.  Please contact us and discuss what help you would need.

Access

A major benefit of the East of England Showground is that all the main paths and roadways are paved and relatively smooth.  That makes them easy for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, as well as those who are unsteady on their feet.

Two of the stages are on permanent floors, while the third stage is on grass.  The food court and camping is on grass.

The toilets and showers are in a permanent building, which has accessible facilities. We will provide a number of accessible toilets around the site.

Camping

All the camping is within 200m of the arena and toilets, along tarmac roadways.  As in previous years, we are reserving a camping area nearest to the stages and arena specifically for people who have mobility disabilities.

This means that people who have difficulty walking can camp closer to the centre of the festival, stages and food court, as well as the toilet and shower facilities.

If you would like to take advantage of this, let us know when you arrive.  We are not limiting it to blue badge holders, wheelchair users or asking for medical evidence.  However, do keep in mind that if you take up a pitch close to the arena, other people with more severe disabilities than yours might have to be further away.

Also, because this area is at the front of the camping area, close to the centre of the festival, it is likely to be busier and noisier at certain times. If you prefer a quieter pitch, you may wish to camp on the main field.

Electric supplies

We are offering electric hook-ups for campers, available as an option when you buy your camping ticket. By default, hook-ups will be in the main camping area. If you need a hook-up in the disabled camping area, you must let us know in advance.

If you need an electric supply e.g. to recharge a mobility aid, or for an overnight medical device, please contact us in advance and tell us what you need.  We will do whatever we can to provide it.

Assistance

If you have an emergency or any difficulty or need assistance at any time, talk to a steward or member of the security team who will be able to contact someone to help. Should no one be immediately on hand, call 07549 066809 to request steward assistance.

We will try and provide whatever facilities and assistance you need to enjoy the festival. Please contact us in advance and tell us what you need, or ask a member of staff at any time.

Carers go free

Carers can be admitted free with any disabled person.  Contact us in advance and explain your need, and we will add your Carer to the Guest List.

Viewing the bands

Some of our wheelchair users just love to mix it in the audience - that's no problem!  We are offering tiered seat upgrades in the main stage for those who prefer to sit.  We are considering how to provide protected viewing areas in the stages.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs

The CRF has a history of being supportive to guide dogs since its days at the Wood Green Animal Shelter. The Showground  allows guide dogs and assistance dogs, including inside the main stage Pavilion and other buildings.  Other dogs are allowed outside but not in the buildings.
